I. Definition
Vitamin B6 is water-soluble, it exists in three major chemical forms: pyridoxine, pyridoxal, and pyridoxamine and is vital for our body in enzymes formation inlvoving protein and red blood cell metabolism.

II. How vitamin B6 effects women with PMS
1. Hormone imbalance
Researchers show that vitamin B6 is effective in treating symptoms of depression
for women with premenstrual symptomcaused by side effects of the pill.

2. Works with other mineral
In order for vitamin B6 to work effectively, it must work with some minerals including magnesium. Vitamin B6 requires magnesium to convert to pyridoxalo-5-phosphate which our body can used. Deficiency of other trace minerals limits that conversion leading to pyridoxalo-5-phosphate deficiency resulting in exhibiting many symptoms of PMS.

3. Nervous system

4. Dopamine
Dopamine is produced in several areas of the brain, including the substania nigae and hypothalamas. Deficiency of vitamin B6 interferes the dopamine functions in transmitting such information resulting in nervous tension and breast pain and cramps.

5. Tryptophan
Tryptophan is one of many amino acids work with vitamin B6 in protein synthesizing and acts as precursor for some important hormone in the body. Deficiency of vitamin B6 causes unbalance of levels of tryptophan resulting in nervous tension, sleeplessness, depression, etc.

6. Serotonin
Serotonin is vital neurotransmitter in controlling the nervous system function including anger, sleep, aggression, mood and other metabolism. Deficiency of vitamin B6 limits the function of the nervous system in secreting serotonin resulting in nervous symptoms for women with pre menstrual syndrome.
